All Church History (ACH)

ACH 101 Early Church History – This is a study of the life of Christ, the life of Paul and a synopsis of the book of Acts.
ACH 123 The Ages – This is a study of eternal past, first chaos, present age, age to come and ages of eternal future.
ACH 223 Church History – A study of the Papacy, persecutions by Rome, church history, the Reformation, origin of the church and present church structure. Paganism is also introduced.
ACH 405 Reformation – A study of Martin Luther and the events that lead up to the Reformation and the beginning of the Protestant denomination of today.
ACH 501 Early Church History – Covers major historical movement and theological issues.
ACH 503 Medieval & Reformation History – Includes the various lines of thought of the period and life.
ACH 705 Modern Church History– A look at current events and thoughts of the church in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

Biblcial Language (BLT)

BLT 506 Greek Word Studies – A study of New Testament Greek with an emphasis on preparation for using reference tools. It includes the examination of a basic vocabulary to increase familiarity with the Greek language. A minimum of 150 key words are studied.

Biblical Studies (BS)

BS 123 General Bible Knowledge – This course examines the origin of the Bible, archeological informatoin, ancient manuscripts, the Apocrypha, customs and languages, the date-less past, pre-Adam and eternity past.
BS 201 Introduction to Old Testament – This course is a look at portions of the Old Testament. There is also a review of Jewish customs that gives insight to Holy Scriptures.
BS 202 Introduction to New Testament – This course provides a look at portions of the New Testament. There is also a study of the rules and principles concerning the interpretation of Scripture.
BS 223 Geological Ages – A study of God "in the beginning", heavens and Earth created, Earth's first ruler and social order, the fall of the original social order and Earth's first chaos.
BS 401 Apocrypha– The study of those books considered non-canonical by the Protestant church and deuterocanonical by the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches. The books include: Bruck, Bel and the Dragon, 1 and 2 and Esdras, Judith 1 and 2, Maccabees, The Prayer of Manesseh, and the Wisdom of Solomon.
BS 501 Bibiology – A study of Scripture as what it teaches. Includes guidelines for correctly dividing or studying the Word of God.
BS 502 Biblical Archaeology – A study of the most important archaeological findings in the Middle East, including the current activity in the Dead Sea and Temple Mount areas. It includes past findings in Ancient Babylon, Assyria and Egypt.
BS 504 Bible Atlas – This course examines the ancient and modern boundaries of past and present nations of the Middle East.
BS 701 Apocrypha – A study of Scripture as what it teaches. Includes guidelines for correctly dividing or studying the Word of God.

BS 801 Biblical Translations – This course is designed to present the development of the Bible in its many translations reflecting both the success and short comings of each.

Christian Counseling (CCP)

CCP 210 Christian Counseling – A study of Christian Counseling, the role of crisis, responses to crises and the stages of recover. Also, a study of conflict resolution, the four stages of a group and the effective group leader.
CCP 410 Christian Psychology – A study of psychology from a Christian perspective.
CCP 450 Pastoral/Christian Counseling 1 – This course covers basic counseling principles, involving human behavior and typical problems found in the church environment.
CCP 521 Marriage and Family – This is a study of complexities of marriage and family, various problems and solutions. This includes, but not limited to, discussions on finance, communication, sexual attitudes and interpersonal relationships.
CCP 525 Crisis Counseling– Designed to present the nature and the dynamics of crisis situations with proper intervention techniques.
CCP 530 Practical Application of Christian Counseling – This course is a study of practical counseling techniques. Students are required to submit video or audiotapes of actual counseling sessions.
CCP 535 The Counseling Session – This course involves a study of the methods and parameters of an actual counseling session.
CCP 560 Current Social Issues – This is a study of the major social and moral issues of today's promiscuous, God-rejecting, rebellious society. Such issues as alcoholism, pornography, drug abuse, prostitution, etc. are discussed.

Christian Education (CE)

CE 201 Survey of Christian Education – This course includes studies in teaching techniques, a summary of the Christian school movement, discussions of several coures of study available and an in-depth review of secular humanism, including its history, how it is currently being taught in public schools adn our Christian responsibilities to oppose it.
CE 401 Christian Education (Christian Minister) – This course is an overview of various Sunday School techniques, acceleration Christian education programs and Vacation Bible School.
CE 412 Christian Teacher – An in-depth study of the curriculum programs presently used by most Christian schools grades K-12.
CE 601 Christian Education – This course is a study of basic pedagogical imperatives in today's evangelical and missionary-minded churches. It includes methods and aids used in teaching children, young adults, adults and seniors; the operation of a Christian day school and Sunday School youth activities.

Homiletics (HOM)

HOM 520 Preaching Practicum – Preparation and delivery of six sermons recorded on tape for evaluation.

Ministries (MIN)

MIN 501 Worship – A foundational study of the worship ministry through the integratoin of Scriptures, music, proclamation and prayer.
MIN 540 Missions – A study of the place of missions in the life and practice of the church.

New Testament (NT)

NT 103 The Epistles 1 – A study of the books of Romans, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and 1 and 2 Thessalonians.
NT 105 The Epistles 2 – A study of the books of 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, 1 and 2 Peter, 1, 2 and 3 John and Jude.
NT 123 Harmony of the Gospels – This course examines Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and the life and family tree of Jesus.
NT 223 Acts of the Apostles – A study of the mysteries of the Kingdom (Parables), miracles and power to do them, the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven.
NT 263 Revelations - Symbolic Language – This is a study of the great whore, beast out of the sea, the sun clothed woman, the man child, spiritual Babylon and the beast out of the earth.
NT 301 Synoptic Gospels – A systematic study of the first three New Testament books of Matthew, Mark and Luke. It also discusses synoptic problems with the similarities and differences between these three Gospels.
NT 302 Book of Acts – This is a study of early church history including an overview of the journeys of Paul.

NT 811 Christology – This course is a study of the work, words and life of Christ, His mission and minsitry with an emphasis on His redemptive mission in God's plan of salvation for mankind.

Old Testament (OT)

OT 123 Major/Minor Prophets, History Between Testaments – Prophets to be examined are: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Nahum, Joel, Habakkuk, Amos, Zephaniah, Obadiah, Haggai, Jonah, Zechariah, Micah and Malachi. History between the Old and New Testaments will also be studied.
OT 301 Genesis– A detailed study of the book with an emphasis on its Biblical theology.
OT 302 Exodus – Exegesis of the book with an emphasis on its Biblical theology.
OT 303 Joshua– A detailed study of the book of Joshua.
OT 304 Daniel – A study of the book as a whole. Emphasis is placed on its interpretation as prophetic literature.
OT 401 Minor Prophets 1 – This is an exegetical study of the minor prophetic books of Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah and Micah.
OT 402 Minor Prophets 2 – This is an exegetical study of the prophetic books of Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.
OT 403 O.T. Historical Books 1 – This course discusses the historical books of Judges, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel and 1 and 2 Kings.
OT 404 O.T. Historical Books 2 – This is a study of the historical books of Joshua, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah and Esther.
OT 410 Study of David – This course details the life of David as presented in Scripture.
OT 501 O.T. Major Prophets – This is an exegetical study of the prophetic books of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel and Daniel.
OT 503 Poetical O.T. Books – This is an exegetical study of the Old Testament poetical books of Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and the Song of Solomon.
OT 810 O.T. Survey – A study of God as He has revealed Himself to man in the Old Testament Scriptures.

PAC 101 Church Growth & Evangelism – Includes how to start a church, church organizatoin and successful church growth, as well as evangelism in the United States adn overseas.

Religious Christian Doctrine (RCD)

RCD 101 Doctrines of the Bible – A study of various Biblical doctrines, including the Doctrine of God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, man, salvation, justification, angels and Satan. It also covers the ancient Biblical practice of fasting for personal and spiritual renewal.
RCD 104 The Trinity 1 – This is a study of the words "God" and "Godhead", the number in the Godhead, difference in "three" and "one", where did the trinity come from and their literalness.
RCD 110 Thanatology – This is the study of resurrections: that of the just and unjust.
RCD 111 Dispensations – A study of the ages or divisions of time in which God used different methods in the great work of redeeming man from his fallen state. This includes a study of the age of Innocence, Conscience, Human Government, Promise, Law, Grace and the Kingdom. Also covered is the concept of earth's seven cosmic ages: Original Earth, Chaotic Earth, Edenic Earth, Shielded Earth, Turbulent Earth, Millennial Earth and New Earth.
RCD 112 Eschatology – A study of end-time events including the second coming of Jesus, Daniel's seventieth week, the seven trumpet judgments, seven vials, Battle of Armageddon, Anti-Christ, tribulation period and millennial reign of Christ.
RCD 113 Tripartition of Man– This is a study of the spirit, sould and body of man, and the function of each. The Gifts of the Spirit are discussed, as well as the true meaning of "walking in the Spirit".
RCD 123 Covenants – A study of the following covenants: Edenic, Adamic, Noahic, Abrahamic, Salt, Mossaic, Davidic, Palestinian and new.
RCD 201 Introduction to Theology – Some of the greatest discussions in theological history will be studied and criticized. These topics include apologetics, Anabaptists, Arminiamism, Calvinism, anthropomorphism, etc. Also included is a study of the theology as taught by Paul, reconciliation and glorification, and a study of the work of an evangelist and the implications of the Great Commission.
RCD 204 The Trinity 2 – This course covers the personality, offices and literalness of God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit.
RCD 223 Spirits and the Underworld – This course studies angels, Satan, demons, Sheol and Hades.
RCD 263 Advent of Christ – This course addresses the explanation and the questions: who is involved and when does it take place.
RCD 273 Anti-Christ – A study of what is the Anti-Christ, when is he revealed, where does he come from, where does he rule and what the outcome will be.
RCD 503 Biblical Theology– This course deals with the theology of man as a spiritual, psychological and physical being. It also deals with personality development from a Biblical perspective.
RCD 505 Systematic Theology – An introduction to Christian theology and the examination of doctrines of revelation, God, creation and man.
RCD 511 Christology – A study of the person and qualities of Christ, as both God and man.
RCD 512 Demonology– A systematic study of the psychological and spiritual effects of demon possession or satanic oppression.
RCD 513 Eschatology– A systematic study of the major prophecies concerning the end-time events.
RCD 516 Soteriology – This is a study of the doctrine of atonement and salvation as effected by Christ.
RCD 517 Thanatology – This course is a study of the doctrine of death, dying and the afterlife. It discusses infanticide, euthanasia and issues of the aged or those facing terminal illness.
RCD 519 Ecclesiology– An intense study of the church and its mission, nature and present work. It includes a historical look at the church and its early development.
RCD 615 Pneumatology – This course presents a study of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit, His personality and present work in the redemptive plan of God.
RCD 705 Systematic Theology – An introduction to Christian Theology and the examination of doctrines or revelation, God, creation and man.
RCD 707 Sacramental Theology – A study of the role of the sacraments in Christian worship.

RCP 123 The Gifts of the Spirit – An indepth study of the nine Gifts of the Spirit, whose they are, who has access to them and the Gifts in the Old Testament.
RCP 210 Introduction to Ethics – A Biblical study of areas such as: finances, with an emphasis on tithes and offerings (including a practical guide to money management); sexual misconduct, drug use and dependency, plagiarism in preaching, etc.
RCP 223 Israel in Prophecy – A study of where Israel fits in the end-time and will Jews be saved.
RCP 501 Philosophical Theology – A study of the philosophical question surrounding religion.
RCP 510 Apologetics – An intense study of the defense and proof of Christianity.
RCP 522 Ethics – A study of the ethical norms used for guidance of ethical choices and methods.
RCP 560 Philosophy of Christian Art During the Reformation – This course looks at art at the time of the Reformation and seeks to correlate the history and art.
RCP 570 World Religion & Denominational Beliefs – This is an overview of world religions with an in-depth emphasis on the history, beliefs, dogmas, doctrines and practices of various denominations of faith groups.
RCP 571 World Religions – This is an advanced study of at least three major world religions excluding Christianity.
RCP 802 Philosophy of Religion – A study of the relationship of religion and philosophy and their effect on each other and our view of reality.
RCP 807 Overview of Logic– This course is a basic overview of logic. The basic principles and definitions of logic and the use of statements as proofs are considered.
RCP 822 Ethics – A study of the ethical norms used for guidance of ethical choices and methods.
RCP 860 Philosophy of Christian Art During the Reformation – This course looks at art at the time of the Reformation, and seeks to correlate the history and art.

Research (RES)

RES 230 Research Paper – The study of a current social issue from a Biblical perspective.
RES 401 New Student Orientation – It involves an overview of TBCS, its history, the various divisions and philosophy of education. There is also a study of the personality makeup of the student. After completing a personality questionnaire, each student receives a computer-generated profile which is reviewed and analyzed for self-help purposes.
RES 405 Directed Studies – These courses are designed to stimulate individual research and study in areas which have not been adequately examined by the student in previous studies. The course may be repeated with a different topic, subject to approval of TBCS.

RES 520 Thesis – This is the master thesis. This study is completed on any subject relating to the program major (with prior approval).
RES 580 Field Study – An opportunity to serve under a Pastor in an area of interest (three interim reports and an evaluation by the Pastor).
RES 605 Directed Studies – These courses are designed to stimulate individual research and study in areas, which have not been adequately examined by the student in previous studies. The course may be repeated with a different topic, subject to approval of TBCS.
RES 620 Research 1 – The completed outline, thesis statement and bibliography are submitted.
RES 621 Research 2 – The completed rough draft is submitted. If the rough draft is accepted, the student is admitted to candidacy.
RES 622 Research 3 – Two copies of the completed dissertation, hard bound, are submitted.
RES 690 Oral Defense – This mandatory oral defense is a review of the doctrinal dissertation in particular, but also reviews the overall program and all courses completed.
